Project Background

Working across 23 countries in sub-Saharan Africa as well as Cambodia, the U.S. President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) VectorLink Project is equipping countries to plan and implement safe, cost-effective and sustainable life-saving malaria vector control interventions with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria. Specifically, the PMI VectorLink Project will build the capacity of country governments to use epidemiological, entomological, and coverage data to support the optimal deployment of vector control tools within each country context while promoting gender equity in all facets of planning and implementation.

Your contribution

VectorLink is seeking multidisciplinary LLIN experts to establish a roster of consultants for support as needs arise.

Specific tasks will vary depending on the needs of each country and but may include the following:

  • Coordinate with NMCP and LLIN partners to conduct LLIN continuous distribution process reviews
  • Develop operational guidance for LLIN continuous distribution with NMCP and Ministry of Health stakeholders
  • Facilitate participatory workshops with MOH and LLIN partners to develop the draft operational guidance building from national and international reference documents

Deliverables

  • LLIN process review outputs and reports, following established review approach
  • Operational guidelines
  • NMCP presentation of results
  • Detailed trip report
  • Draft technical report as determined with supervisor

What are we looking for?

  • An advanced degree in a relevant field (such as public health, medicine, international development, or a related field)
  • At least 5 years of experience in public health implementation national level
  • Knowledge of broader health policies and National Malaria Control Programs and the Roll Back Malaria Program desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and build consensus
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work with cooperating partners in implementing complex programs in challenging environments
  • Strong representational skills and ability to interface with multiple stakeholders in a professional matter
  • Experience working with USAID and/or PMI a plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French (required). Professional competency in English (a plus).
